Free, Confidential Crisis Support Anytime
Our Crisis and Information Line connects you with trained crisis counselors 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Whether you’re in crisis, worried about someone, or simply need information about mental health services, our team is here to listen, support, and help you find the right next step.

RiverValley Behavioral Health operates one of only 13 certified 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline call centers in Kentucky and one of approximately 200 nationwide. When you call or text 988, you may be connected directly with our local team of trained crisis counselors who understand our community and the resources available in Western Kentucky.
You can also reach us directly at (800) 433-7291. Our TDD line for deaf or hard-of-hearing individuals is (800) 769-4920. Online chat is available at 988lifeline.org.
Our crisis counselors provide immediate emotional support, safety planning, risk assessment, information about mental health and substance use services, and referrals to the appropriate level of care. Calls are free and confidential. You don’t need insurance, an appointment, or even your name to call.
The Crisis and Information Line serves anyone in need, including individuals experiencing suicidal thoughts or self-harm urges, emotional distress, substance use crises, anxiety or panic, grief, trauma, or any situation that feels overwhelming. Family members and community members concerned about someone else are also welcome to call for guidance and support.
Our team can also coordinate with the Mobile Crisis Team for in-person response, arrange referrals to The Phoenix Center for residential stabilization, or connect you with outpatient services for ongoing care.
Telehealth medication appointments are available for established patients, making it easier to maintain consistent care.
Take the first step toward recovery today. Call us at (270) 689-6879 or contact us online to schedule an appointment. Walk-ins are also welcome at any of our locations.

What to Expect
When you call, a trained crisis counselor will answer and listen to what you’re going through. They’ll ask questions to understand your situation and help you feel safe. Together, you’ll identify next steps, which might include safety planning, a referral to services, or arranging a Mobile Crisis Team visit. Every conversation is confidential and free.
After your evaluation, your provider will discuss treatment recommendations and answer any questions before you make a decision together. Follow-up appointments are typically every 2-4 weeks initially, then less frequently once treatment stabilizes. Between appointments, our team is available for medication-related questions.
