Crisis Support That Comes to You
Sometimes a crisis happens where you are—at home, at school, or in the community. Our Mobile Crisis Team brings professional crisis intervention directly to you, providing assessment, support, and stabilization wherever you need it across our seven-county service area.

The Mobile Crisis Team (MCT) is a trained group of behavioral health professionals who respond to mental health and substance use crises in the community. Available 24/7, the team travels to individuals in crisis rather than requiring them to come to a facility—removing barriers and providing help when and where it’s needed most.
To request the Mobile Crisis Team, call our crisis line at 1-800-433-7291. Anyone can make a request: the individual in crisis, family members, caregivers, law enforcement, school personnel, hospital staff, or other community partners. Our crisis line team assesses the situation and dispatches the MCT when an in-person response is appropriate.
During a Mobile Crisis Team visit, our professionals conduct a thorough assessment of the individual and the situation. They provide on-site crisis counseling, safety planning, and de-escalation support. The team works with the individual and their support system to identify the least restrictive intervention that will keep everyone safe.
Depending on the situation, outcomes may include crisis resolution with a safety plan, referrals to outpatient services, connection to The Phoenix Center for residential stabilization, or assistance with transportation to a higher level of care when necessary. The MCT also provides follow-up coordination to ensure the individual receives ongoing support.
Our Mobile Crisis Team serves all seven counties in our service area: Daviess, Hancock, Henderson, McLean, Ohio, Union, and Webster.
Telehealth medication appointments are available for established patients, making it easier to maintain consistent care.

What to Expect
After you call 1-800-433-7291, a crisis counselor will assess the situation by phone. If an in-person response is appropriate, the Mobile Crisis Team will be dispatched to your location. The team will work with you to assess the crisis, provide immediate support, develop a safety plan, and determine next steps. You don’t need insurance or a prior relationship with RiverValley.
After your evaluation, your provider will discuss treatment recommendations and answer any questions before you make a decision together. Follow-up appointments are typically every 2-4 weeks initially, then less frequently once treatment stabilizes. Between appointments, our team is available for medication-related questions.
