Building Skills for Daily Living and Recovery

The Therapeutic Rehabilitation Program at RiverValley Behavioral Health provides a safe, supportive day program where adults with serious mental illness can build daily living skills, form meaningful connections, and work toward greater independence in a welcoming group setting.

TRP combines skill-building groups, individual support, and therapeutic activities to help you work on personal goals while connecting with others who understand your experiences.

The program focuses on practical skills for independent living and community participation—including budgeting, cooking, personal care, social skills, stress management, problem-solving, and coping strategies for mental health symptoms.

Our curriculum addresses the whole person with programming in mental health education, wellness, social skills development, vocational preparation, creative expression, and community integration.

TRP provides meaningful structure for those who benefit from routine and regular engagement. Attending several days per week offers consistency that can be stabilizing while providing opportunities for growth. Many participants find that the friendships and sense of community they develop are essential to their recovery.

Our staff are experienced mental health professionals who create a warm, encouraging atmosphere and provide individualized attention in group settings.

What to Expect

The program operates during daytime hours on weekdays, with participants attending two to five days per week based on individual needs. A typical day includes skill-building groups, therapeutic activities, meals, and time for socialization.

Your progress is reviewed regularly, and goals are adjusted as you master skills and identify new areas for growth.
