Immediate Care When You Need It Most
When substance use reaches a crisis point, immediate medical attention can save lives. RiverValley Behavioral Health provides acute hospitalization services with 24/7 medical supervision for individuals experiencing severe withdrawal, overdose recovery, or substance use emergencies requiring intensive stabilization.

Our acute care services provide round-the-clock medical supervision in a safe, clinical environment. The focus is on immediate stabilization—managing dangerous withdrawal symptoms, addressing medical complications, and ensuring your safety during the most critical phase of the recovery process.
Medical detoxification is often the first step for individuals with physical dependence on alcohol, opioids, benzodiazepines, or other substances. Our medical team monitors your vital signs, manages withdrawal symptoms with appropriate medications, and keeps you as comfortable as possible throughout the process.
Acute hospitalization is typically short-term, with the goal of stabilizing you physically and emotionally so you can transition to the next appropriate level of care. Our clinical team works with you during this time to develop a treatment plan for ongoing recovery.
Co-occurring mental health conditions are common among individuals with substance use disorders. Our integrated approach addresses both simultaneously, with psychiatric evaluation and treatment available during your stay.
Following stabilization, our team coordinates your transition to residential treatment, outpatient services, or other programs based on your individual needs and ASAM level of care assessment.
Take the first step toward recovery today. Call us at (270) 689-6879 or contact us online to schedule an appointment. Walk-ins are also welcome at any of our locations.

What to Expect
If you or a loved one is in crisis, call (270) 689-6879 or go to the nearest emergency room. Our admissions team is available 24/7 to arrange acute care when needed.
During your stay, a medical team monitors your condition, manages symptoms, and begins treatment planning. Length of stay depends on your medical needs and stabilization progress.
