Flexible Outpatient Treatment for Lasting Recovery

Outpatient substance use services at RiverValley Behavioral Health allow you to receive professional addiction treatment while maintaining your daily responsibilities. Whether you’re stepping down from residential care or seeking support for early-stage addiction, our flexible programs help you build recovery into your everyday life.

Individual counseling gives you one-on-one time with a licensed addiction counselor to explore the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors driving your substance use. Using evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing, your counselor helps you develop coping skills and strategies for sobriety.

Group therapy connects you with others who understand your journey. Our groups cover relapse prevention, managing triggers, building healthy relationships, and developing a recovery lifestyle. Many people find the shared experience provides unique support and accountability.

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) offer structured care for those who need more than weekly sessions but don’t require residential treatment. IOP involves several hours of programming multiple days per week while you continue living at home.

Flexible scheduling with evening and daytime appointments is available at multiple locations, plus telehealth options for added convenience. Services can be combined with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for a comprehensive approach addressing both physical and psychological aspects of addiction.

What to Expect

Treatment begins with an ASAM-guided assessment to determine the right level of care. You’ll then be matched with a counselor and scheduled for individual and/or group sessions based on your needs.

Your treatment plan is reviewed regularly and adjusted as you progress. As you build stability, services can step down in intensity while keeping you connected to ongoing support.
