Personalized Residential Recovery for Men
The Onyx Center is RiverValley Behavioral Health’s 16-bed residential treatment facility for men navigating substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. Located in a calm, nature-inspired setting in Owensboro, this 24/7 supervised program combines evidence-based therapies with peer support, family education, and comprehensive aftercare.
Our trauma-informed program draws from proven methods including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and individual psychotherapy. Treatment is tailored to each client’s unique needs, addressing both addiction and any co-occurring mental health conditions simultaneously.
The Onyx Center’s residential phase spans approximately four weeks of intensive, structured programming. During this time, you’ll participate in individual therapy, group sessions, family psychoeducation, and activity-based interventions in a supportive community of peers who understand your experience.
Psychiatric care is available through telehealth and emergency services, ensuring continuity for those with complex mental health needs. A licensed drug and alcohol counselor and clinical counselor lead the treatment team.
Recovery doesn’t end at discharge. Following residential treatment, you transition to 11 months of aftercare including weekly group sessions and monthly outpatient therapy. The Jade House recovery residence covers housing, transportation, food, and other essentials for the first six months while you rebuild stability.

What to Expect
