Children’s Hospital

RiverValley Behavioral Health Children’s Hospital provides inpatient psychiatric care for children and adolescents ages 5 to 17 in Owensboro, Kentucky. Our dedicated facility offers a safe, structured environment where young people can receive the intensive support they need to heal, grow, and return home stronger.

Services we provide

Our not-for-profit psychiatric hospital specializes in treating children and teens experiencing serious mental health and behavioral challenges. Whether your child is in acute crisis or needs a higher level of care than outpatient services can provide, our team of psychiatrists, therapists, nurses, and support staff work together to create individualized treatment plans that address each child’s unique needs.

Inside the hospital, care includes individual, group, and family therapy, medication evaluation and management, specialized therapeutic activities, 24/7 nursing care and crisis support, and behavioral intervention services. Every treatment plan is built around your child, not a diagnosis code.

Our Walk-In Clinic at the hospital is open 24/7 for psychiatric assessments. No appointment needed. And when inpatient care ends, we help families connect to outpatient services and telehealth across our seven-county area.

We believe quality mental health care should be accessible to everyone. We accept most insurance plans, Medicaid, and Medicare, and offer sliding scale fees based on your ability to pay. Our staff will work with you to find a plan that fits your needs and budget.

Taking the first step can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to do it alone. Whether your child is dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, or something you can’t quite name yet, our team is ready to guide you from the first assessment through ongoing support.
