I note general non-responsiveness from this “mental health” organization. A pretty waiting room only gets you so far. Their voicemail greeting is not congruent with present reality. The spoken words from the “therapist” I met with in person was also not congruent with reality, as there has been zero follow up after one month, my follow up phone calls, and my follow up emails. She looked like a deer in headlights throughout our interview, and consistently misunderstood every single thing I said (e.g., consistently misinterpreted issues while absolving strangers she has never met, e.g., she consistently demonstrated auditory processing difficulties with verbal information). I am apparently too traumatized for this organization. Therefore, they either need to hire therapists who are actually educated and skilled enough to deal with real traumas — or perhaps, seek another line of income, as money rather than service seems to be the function here. This organization has been very triggering for me, and I do not recommend them. It’s a pity, as there are very few choices for mental health support in New Mexico. It was my understanding that improving mental health services was a priority for this state. Two feeble stars due to a pretty waiting room, and at least I had two weeks of wishful thinking that I might receive some much needed support. (unfortunately more than I’ve gotten from other NM sources) Should probably be ONE STAR due to the complete lack of follow through. TO THE BUSINESS: Understand that failed expectations is a huge deal for clients with pre-existing mental health issues. TO POTENTIAL CLIENTS: Understand that if this agency is receiving state funding, that they probably have not met their side of the deal.
