  • Creating over 100 new jobs in Owensboro in 2024 while expanding services and reinvesting locally

At RiverValley Behavioral Health, community impact isn’t just what we do; it’s who we are.

Community Impact

Our mission is simple. We want to make a meaningful difference in the places we call home. From providing Mental Health First Aid and crisis intervention training to supporting initiatives that promote stability, education, and overall wellness, every effort reflects our belief that lasting change begins at the community level.

We don’t just serve the community; we’re part of it. By partnering with schools, healthcare providers, and local nonprofits, we drive innovation, expand access to care, and meet emerging community needs head-on. Each year, we proudly donate more than $75,000 to area nonprofits, supporting vital programs that align with our shared mission of building stronger, healthier communities.

Sponsorships

RiverValley Behavioral Health proudly supports local events, nonprofits, and initiatives aligned with our mission to promote wellness, recovery, and community connection. We believe in giving back and working alongside our community partners to sponsor local programs, fundraisers, and activities that uplift individuals and strengthen our shared community network. Resource Fairs & Events

Throughout the year, RiverValley Behavioral Health participates in and hosts health and resource fairs, educational workshops, and family-friendly community events. These gatherings offer residents opportunities to connect with essential health services, learn about prevention and wellness, and engage directly with our team and partners.

RVBH Community Events

We believe in the power of connection. Through events such as our Youth Mental Health Art Contest, Back to School Bash, and International Overdose Awareness Day, we engage, educate, and inspire hope across every corner of our service area. These programs not only raise awareness but also strengthen bonds between individuals, families, and the services that support them.

Youth Mental Health Art Contest

Our annual Youth Mental Health Art Contest empowers students in our region to express themselves creatively while raising awareness of mental health and emotional well-being. Each year, hundreds of young artists share powerful messages of hope and healing, reminding us that mental wellness begins with open conversations.

Back to School Bash

Every August, RiverValley Behavioral Health hosts our annual Back-to-School Bash in Hancock County at our Lewisport clinic. This free community event helps local families prepare for a successful school year. Children receive backpacks and school supplies while families connect with health and wellness resources, local organizations, and fun activities.

International Overdose Awareness Day

Each year, we honor International Overdose Awareness Day on August 31 to remember lives lost, reduce stigma, and promote recovery. Through memorial displays, educational outreach, and community conversations, RiverValley Behavioral Health stands with families and individuals affected by substance use. We use this time to raise awareness, encourage compassion, and strengthen community-wide prevention and recovery efforts.
