The Birch is a specialized long-term treatment program located at RiverValley Behavioral Health Children’s Hospital on Industrial Drive in Owensboro. The BIRCH program (Building Confidence, Inspiring Hope, Recognizing Strengths, Cultivating Connections, Healing Together) serves male adolescents ages 12–17 who require six to nine months of intensive, trauma-informed residential treatment.
Developed in partnership with and funded by the Kentucky Cabinet for Health & Family Services, this first-of-its-kind program in Kentucky is designed for youth who have experienced repeated crises or struggled in previous placements.
